Design Proposal: Intelligent Programmable Oven

Our design consists in create a control system for a small toaster oven, that actually works manually without any type of programmable functions. The control system will allow the user to set the oven to turn on at a determined time at a certain temperature and to set a cooking time, that is the period of time that the oven is going to be on (it will turn off once the cooking time is complete). The turn on time, temperature, and the cooking time will be given by the user utilizing an input device. This will allow the user to reset the system too. The oven will have a digital display that will show “set” when the required information is been given, “on” when it turns on, and “finish” when it finishes.

It’ll be required a temperature sensor to ensure that the oven reaches the preset temperature and stays at it during the whole cooking time. Also a real time clock will be use so the oven turns on and off at the correct time. The purpose of this design is to make easier food preparation. The IPO will give to its users the advantage to cook without been present at the moment and the food will be prepared and ready to eat when they get home.
